Inscriptions
Adding lettering to an existing stone is called an inscription. This need, most often, occurs when there is a pre-existing family headstone which requires the addition of a name and/or date. It is common for us to match the existing inscription in both style and wording although this is not a necessity.
Work is done in cemetery and it is an ideal opportunity for us to assess whether the existing stone or base requires any additional work (cleaning, pointing, etc.) as it is frequently the last time it will be attended to.
We offer inscription services in all local cemeteries. We can add lettering to any marker or stone. We go to great lengths to match the existing lettering.
On occasion it may be necessary for us to remove the stone and bring it back to our shop for the work. This is dependent on the amount of lettering required, the condition of the monument and base, and the potential for causing harm to flowers or shrubbery.
We will let you know what the best option is for you.
